Procedures:

The Button does not appear with The software P_802_680_640_005.

This test is designed for the if the EGR actuator motor has been replaced, the end position of the EGR actuator easy and simple
can be calibrated and stored in the ECU.
To run the EGR actuator reset open the corresponding use case in SerDia2010 as shown in the lower Image.

Once the Use-Case has started the test can be started directly by clicking on the
Button “EGR actuator reset” (pictured purple highlighted).

If the EGR reset is active, next to the selected button (in the lower purple marks) a
rotating icon appear.

If the EGR controller reset was successful, SerDia shows the message below.

Notice:This function is available at Competence Class 2.

Any time the brake is disassembled or lines removed, the system will require bleeding. To bleed the system proceed as follows:

REMEMBER: As the brake pedal must be depressed several times while bleeding,this job has to be done with two persons.
CASE IH 20 Series Combine Bleeding Service Break Operation (2)

Procedures:

1 Park the combine on level ground and block the wheels adequately to prevent the combine form rolling. The engine does NOT need to be running.
2 Raise the header and engage the header safety latch. Stop the engine.
3 Verify that the brake reservoir is filled.
4 Slide a transparent hose over the RH outside bleed screw to catch the oil when bleeding.
5 Cab Operator holds down the LH brake pedal and pumps RH brake pedal.
6 Bleed Operator loosens RH outside caliper bleed valve (#1 in photo) to allow the air to bleed out, and then retightens it when oil comes out of the port.
7 Operator then loosens RH inside caliper bleed valve (#2 in photo) to allow the air to bleed out, and then retightens it when oil comes out of the port.
8 Operator in cab then holds down RH brake pedal and pumps LH brake pedal.
9 Repeat steps 5-7 for the LH side.
10 Check for the reservoir for proper oil level

A short to ground exists in the wiring for the PTO engine shutdown switch. The parameter “PTO Engine Shutdown Switch” must be programmed to “J1/P1:7” or “J1/P1:23”.

 

 

If the vehicle speed is not equal to zero, or if there are active vehicle speed faults, the engine will go to low idle. The engine will not shut down when the vehicle speed falls to zero. When the PTO engine shutdown switch is pressed, a 186-14 will become active. The code will stay active until the engine shuts down. When the engine shuts down, the code will be loggged.

 

Possible Causes:

Conditions Which Generate This Code:
The Electronic Control Module (ECM) detects the following conditions:

• The signal voltage from the intake manifold air temperature sensor is less than 0.2 Volts DC formore than eight seconds.
• The ECM has been powered for at least two seconds.
• Diagnostic code 0168-01 is not active.

System Response:
If equipped, the diagnostic lamp will flash. The ECM will log the diagnostic code.
The ECM will use the default value of 70 °C (158°F) for the intake manifold air temperature. “Voltage Low” will be displayed next to the status for “Intake Manifold Air Temperature” on the electronic service tool.

Possible Performance Effect:
• Poor stability
• Poor cold running
• White smoke
• Black smoke
• Poor acceleration under load

Troubleshooting:
This fault can be caused by a sensor that is shorted to ground or a sensor that is internally shorted.
Perform the following diagnostic procedure: “Engine Temperature Sensor Open or Short Circuit – Test” Results:
• OK – STOP

DIAGNOSTIC RESPONSE:

CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION:

This test verifies VEPS calibration within TCM is valid.

 

ACTION TAKEN WHEN THE DTC SETS:

  1. The CHECK TRANS light Iluminates.
  2. DTC is stored in the TCM history.
  3. The TCM inhibits shifts to range.

 

CONDITIONS FOR CLEARING THE DTC:

TCM must be recalibrated.

 

DIAGNOSTIC AIDS:

Indication of invalid VEPS calibration include:

1 Not able to connect to TCM with the diagnostic tool.

2 Cat-eyes in shift selector windows.

Disassembling the controller

Requirements

Truck parked securely – see operating instructions.

 

Procedure

Disconnect the battery connector and lift out the battery – see operating instructions.

The controller is underneath the battery.

Remove the cover (1) of the controller (5).

Detach the electrical connections U, V, W, B+ and B- (2).

Undo the plug connection (4).

Undo the screw connections on the controller housing (3)

Lift out the controller (5).

Controller removed.

 

Fitting the controller

Requirements

Truck parked securely – see operating instructions

 

Procedure

Insert the controller (5).

Fit the controller (5) in place.

Re-establish the plug connection (4).

Connect the electrical connections U, V, W, B+ and B- (2)

Fit the cover (1) of the controller (5).

Insert the battery and connect the battery connector Controller fitted.

A teach-in of the controller is required after replacement. Otherwise, an error is indicated by means of a flashing code (4x long and 3x short).

 

Controller teach-in

Jack up the truck – see operating instructions.

Move the tiller (5) to home position.

Press and hold both the collision safety switch (1) and travel switch (2) for a short time.

The teach-in process starts and takes approx 2 to 2.5 minutes. During this process, the drive wheel (4) rotates in different directions and at different speeds

The teach-in process is finished when the red indicator lamp (3) stops flashing.

Do not interrupt the teach-in process.

Start up the truck and carry out a function check – see operating instructions.

Procedures:

1.Place the machine in the service position B

2.Open the engine hood.

3.Turn the belt tensioner clockwise using a ratchet hand tool and remove the engine drive belt.

NOTE!

The belt adjuster tension is very strong. Therefore pay attention to prevent injury after removing belt.

NOTE!

Lock the belt tensioner pulley with a pin ø5 mm (0.2 in) when removing the belt.

4.Turn the belt tensioner clockwise using a ratchet hand tool and remove the alternator/compressor belt.

NOTE!

The belt adjuster tension is very strong. Therefore pay attention to prevent injury after removing belt.

NOTE!

Lock the belt tensioner pulley with a pin ø5 mm (0.2 in) when removing the belt.

5.Install the new engine drive belt and alternator/compressor belt.

6.Close the engine hood.

Circuit Description

The engine control module (ECM) provides a 5 volt supply to the intake manifold pressure sensor on the sensor supply circuit. The ECM also provides a ground on the sensor return circuit. The intake manifold pressure sensor provides a signal to the ECM on the intake manifold pressure sensor signal circuit. This sensor signal voltage changes based on the pressure in the intake manifold.

 

Component Location

The intake manifold pressure sensor 1 is located in intake manifold 1.

Conditions for Running the Diagnostics

This diagnostic runs continuously when the keyswitch is in the ON position.

 

Conditions for Setting the Fault Codes

The Engine Control Module (ECM) detected the intake manifold pressure sensor signal voltage is out of range low.

 

Action Taken When the Fault Code is Active

The ECM illuminates the amber CHECK ENGINE lamp immediately when the diagnostic runs and fails. A default value of the intake manifold pressure reading is used.

 

Conditions for Clearing the Fault Code

Turn the keyswitch OFF. Allow the ECM to completely power down and turn the keyswitch ON.

The fault code status displayed by the recommended electronic service tool or equivalent will change to INACTIVE immediately after the diagnostic runs and passes.

The ECM will turn off the amber CHECK ENGINE lamp immediately after the diagnostic runs and passes.

The “Reset All Faults” command in the recommended electronic service tool or equivalent can be used to clear active and inactive faults.

 

Shop Talk

The intake manifold pressure sensor shares supply and return wires in the engine harness with other sensors. Opens and shorts in the engine harness can cause multiple fault codes to be active. Before troubleshooting Fault Code 123, check for multiple faults.

 

Possible causes of this fault code include:

Signal circuit open or shorted to ground in the engine wiring harness or sensor.

Supply wire open or shorted to ground.

Possible Causes:
1. The Engine ECM has lost power or failed
2. The CAN datalink has failed

Diagnosis and Repair:
1. The Engine ECM has lost power or failed
a. Check the wiring from the base board.
b. Keyswitch control relay is a normally open relay. Ensure that B+ is available at the relay input, then measure the voltage output. If there is a B+ at both the input and
output of the Keyswitch control relay, the relay is not faulty. If B+ is noted at the input but not at the output of the Keyswitch control relay, replace the relay.
c. Connect to the engine ECM with InPower and/or Insite, to verify that the ECM is functioning properly and is communicating with the CAN-LINK network. Refer to the
engine service manual for ECM troubleshooting procedures, if the ECM is faulty,replace.
2. The CAN datalink has failed
a. There is a defective datalink harness connection, or open circuit; inspect the datalink harness and connector pins. Also check the shield ground connection.

b. Check the terminating resistors. With connector disconnected from the base board and the engine datalink connection disconnected from the ECM control, measure
resistance between pins (60 ohms is satisfactory). If the resistance is not 60 ohms,check the terminating resistors. Each of the two terminating resistors should be 120
ohms, replace if not 120 ohms.
